Afternoon proceeds to Peradeniya and visits Royal Botanical Garden.

(Open daily from 8 am to 5 pm and visitors will be received in batches – one batch at a time & visitors are encouraged to bring their own water bottles)

First developed as a pleasure garden under royalty and later harmonized by the British, the Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya - today bundled with the most welcoming facilities located just 4 miles off Kandy - is a flourishing national asset in the Wonder of Asia. Walk into this 147-acre bliss of an experience, passing well-tended lawns, pavilions & an octagon conservatory to be greeted by the vast expanse of magnificently landscaped lush green turf which will encourage you for an exhilarating break. Towards the north of the entrance rests a cafeteria that one might come across before stepping into some of the highlights - the orchid house & giant Javan fig tree - of this place which overflows in grace.

Do Kandy sightseeing.

Last ruled by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe - before it was brought under British rule in 1815, Kandy - the World Heritage Site & last royal capital of Sri Lankan kings - crafts an array of culture, history, and heritage in the minds of visitors across the globe. Experience an ancient Kandyan legacy engraved around its crown jewel, the temple of the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha.

Temple of the Tooth Relic can be visited any weekday from 12:00 pm to 02:00 pm. (your owned footwear should be placed in polythene covers in the proper hygienic procedures in the shoe counter reserved for foreign tourists and placed the footwear themselves in the given basket.

On completion proceed to Colombo via Pinnawala.

Visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. (Open daily from 8 am to 5 pm)

The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage provides visitors with the best chance of seeing a large number of elephants at close quarters. The orphanage was established in 1975 and commenced with seven orphaned elephants. Today some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of seeing their calfs born in the same location. Assisted by local and foreign elephant experts, Pinnawala commenced a successful captive breeding program and the first baby elephant was born in 1984. It is most interesting to visit at feeding time to see the baby elephants being bottle-fed and the entire herd has taken for a bath thereafter to the river nearby.

In the afternoon, do a city tour in Colombo.

The throbbing metropolis, Colombo – located in the West - is not only the country's commercial capital but also the turbine that impels above 50% of the national GDP, flanking Colombo's fancy urban development effort. Drive along the clean streets edging the crystal white Race Course - a horse racing hub in 1893 & World War II airstrip. Drive through Pettah & see the Floating Market, and head along Bauddhaloka Mawatha towards 'Arcade ', facing a historic waypost, the Independence Square, the Dutch Hospital, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), and Nelum Pokuna that should just drive your day into perfection.
